I know. It’s been what feels like a decade since I posted anything here. I’m going to use this post as a forum to vent. If you don’t know, I currently serve as a flight medic in the Air Force Reserves. As reservists, we’re often called “weekend warriors” but we still serve the best way we know how. Another airmen told me that I should do my research about politics, purely because I voted for Trump. I didn’t know how to interpret the feedback because I barely said anything. I briefly discussed why I think Trump is a better candidate than Harris, and this airman continued to say the same thing. Honestly, the conversation was productive and respectful but it was a queasy encounter. It was the first time I ever stated physically to someone that I support Trump.
This is my first time voting as a Republican. My whole life I was conditioned to vote as a democrat but I never understood it. I remember the first time I voted. I believe I was voting with my grandmother (RIP Granny, I love you). I asked her “Which party do I vote for?”. She said “We always vote Democrat.” That might not be the exact verbiage but I specifically remember her saying to vote Democrat. The word “We” stood out to me. When she said “we”, I knew she mean… black people. Blacks are conditioned to vote Democrat because they have “our best interest at heart”. It took a bad break-up and a year of personal research to understand that I’m not oppressed. I quickly learned that a white person doesn’t have more privileges than I do, microaggressions are fueled by insecurities, and don’t believe everything that you hear on the news.
Democrats do an amazing job emotionally appealing to blacks but they fail to do anything that supports black individuals. Let’s look at the Black Lives Matter Movement. The movement was designed to highlight police brutality, racial disparity, and discrimination among black people. This organization believes that blacks are systematically discriminated against simply for the color of their skin. I’m not stating that racism doesn’t exist nor am I saying that police brutality doesn’t exist but when we look at the statistics, you’re more likely to get struck by lightning than being brutally attacked by a policeman. Also, blacks are the minorities. Statistically, there are more whites than other races in America. Therefore whites are more likely to be incarcerated than blacks. I will say this though. When a black person is incarcerated the percentage is going to be bigger because blacks are minorities. That ratio compared to whites might have a bigger impact. We also got to think about the destruction of the nuclear family. Also, the majority of the money fundraised wasn’t given to black communities or black inter-cities. The money went directly to the founders and LBGTQ+ communities. The families of George Floyd weren’t even compensated by the organization. They didn’t get anything. If you watched the film, The Greatest Lie ever sold by Candace Owen. I recommend that you watch it today. It’s available on YouTube or The Daily Wire.
So why did I vote for Trump?
Well, economically we were better when Trump took office. When we compare the economy now to what it was in 2016, the unemployment rate increased when Biden took office. Biden did have a lot against him when he took office because of COVID-19 though. Trump left us Biden with a booming economy but inflation has been on a constant rise since his reign. I don’t like abortions nor do I think it’s morally justifiable to have one but I can argue that they are circumstances when it’s necessary for the survival of the mother. Trump acknowledges that abortion is a difficult subject to tackle. Therefore, granting power over the states is the best thing we can do for our country. Some women may argue that this is still a ban but I think this exercises the demands of everyone. He cares about the black community. During his time in office, he signed an executive order to move the federal HBCUs initiative to the white house. That means more funds for black historical universities. He created the Opportunity Zones program that allows people to invest in distressed areas. Most of these residents are minorities which targets over 7 billion black individuals. He defends the Constitution and fights against communism. For example, the Second Amendment exercises the rights of Americans to keep and bear arms. Most recently, Democrats have argued if this amendment should be ratified with the recent rise of school shootings. Pushing the idea that our weapons should be revoked from Americans and only in the possession of the government. He believes in lowering taxes, not by increasing taxes on the wealthy but by issuing tariffs from other countries. He had an immigration plan to secure the border, but Harris didn’t. The title IX doesn’t protect women’s space. He puts in the effort to make sure women are protected and he supports LBGTQ+ communities. He acknowledges that the radical left is poisoning our youth and wants to make an effort to protect our children.
I want a female as president, just like everyone else. Harris looks like a woman who could fit that image but she’s not direct in her interview. She doesn’t do a great job explaining her policies to the American people. She’s already in office. I voted for her as VP during the last election. I believed and trusted her but her rapport doesn’t seem promising. She hasn’t done much in her position as vice president. She was appointed to tackle issues at the border and only visited the border once. Border Patrol Union is flabbergasted by her lack of urgency since the surge of illegal immigrants coming into the US. She fought with extremists to reconsider Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Case. She met with lawmakers in 18 different states to overturn their abortion ban. She even toured with Planned Parenthood in Minnesota to provide abortion services. She invested her timing in what she supports not necessarily what’s best for the American people. Also, her policies changed when she took office in 2019 compared to now. She believed in banning fracking, eradicating gas-powered cars, mandating the use of EVs by 2035, and issuing resources from the ATF to take gun licenses of dealers who violate the law, this includes using executive action to ban the importation of assault weapons in our country from foreign countries. I don’t disagree with her political stance on climate change. That’s one thing that I strongly believe that we should always be looking for efforts to keep our planet clean. Most Republicans argue that climate change is a hoax. I agree that it isn’t an urgent concern but we should be always making an effort to eradicate the use of greenhouse gases. I think the mandate order for EV by 2035 is extreme because America isn’t ready for that change yet. Every American should exercise their options.
I’m saying all this to say that I’m not bashing Harris for her personality. I think she’s a great person, very smart but her policies don’t appeal to the majority of the American people. I don’t know what to expect tomorrow but whatever happens is purely up to God. I truly put my truth in the Lord. As long as I got faith, I’m alright. Just think about this, we’re just one day away from election day and there’s only one question left to ask:
Are you better off or worse off than you were four years ago?
